Children=Mess=Find a way to fix it!

Now we all now kids being kids will inevitably reek havoc throughout our lives leaving behind a variable cyclone of mess.. and at some point you come to terms with this and deal with it as best you can - I believe this is called Karma from all the chaos you caused your own parents!

So you can't stop the chaos and the mess but can sure stop it from staining everything in sight and constantly reminding you of previous incidents.

We have stumbled across a brilliant site called 'Stain Expert' and believe us - they really are.

Detailed step by steps on how to remove anything from just about anything, tricks and neat little secrets are all available from how to remove ink stains, carpet stains, crayon, paints, kids craft clean up and even what to do when you don't want your tattoo anymore!

Our favorite? Removing silly string stains - had no idea it even left a mark let alone was a repeat stain offender!

Whoot-woo! Headband feaver..

First things first.. we have a FULL page feature coming up in August in the ever so stylish Studio Bambini! SO SO SO Exciting! Needless to say as it is spring/summer and we are still in winter.. we have been busy little bee's trying to organise some new 'lighter' stock and also some fab new booties. I wish I could share with you a photo of how amazing these shoes turned out but unfortunately they are with our photographer at the moment.. so we will have to keep you posted.

BUT- while you wait ever so patiently here's a few snipits of the new spring collection featuring some more lovely additions to the Red Thread Designs range formally The Red Thread (bit of a face lift.. more on this to follow), these items will become available in the following few days.

GORGEOUS headbands fashioned from vintage, new and recycled materials featuring a delightful fabric flower and one of a kind button detail. These are really comfortable as the rear tie not only has an adjustable knot but some nice thick elastic to ensure a snug and 'stay-put' fit. Also new this week is the arrival of Edward and Lilly! HOORAY!! These two little critters are a wee cat and bear who have graced us with their company at Ten Sticky Fingers HQ.. although poor little bear was so exhausted after his long journey he just couldn't quite keep his eyes open anymore.

Whilst we were super busy this week.. there is always time for an extra craft or two.. So just a quick share here of the flirty little Alice band I made for my upcoming river cruise and trivia night.. now being a Sex and the City theme you just have to get into the mood with an absurdly large feather elegantly draped across your head right? .. ok any excuse will do!

Lots of gluing and layering with the design, but essentially all I used was a plain Alice band, contrasting fabrics and some feather bursts! VOILA!

Lastly -Here's a quick snap of Oli and his Unkie Dan at our recent outing to a local indoor play centre. The inflatable castle and slide into the ball pit were a real hit. Although from experience, they really aren't made for adults to be prepared to think thin as you chase after your wee one through all those teeny tunnels and crazy twirly bits up and down.

Show and Tell - YAY (all clap hands)

Everyone loves a good show and tell... especially when it is filled with as much fun stuff as this one!

We kick of this weeks show with a wee snippit of our weekend project. Being mildly (OK allot) obsessed with fabric, buttons, craft, paper, trims, ribbons, thread, beads... you get the idea! We tend to have more stuff than places to put it. Recently as our collection is getting larger, the kitchen table seemed to be getting smaller.

Insert Storage solution / Super fun afternoon craftiness and TADDAH- our new sewing basket thanks to the tutorial from Craft Pudding and a few bits and bobs we just happened to have lying around...mostly on said kitchen table!

Now that we are all organised and in order we can finally show off our newest range of fabrics, these little beauties are the most adorable prints. Chickens, soldiers and in-cognito animals presented in some really fresh colours will eventually be the feature of The Red Thread' summer collection. The traditional maryjane bootie will continue to be available but with a bit of a twist for summer, as well as some fab new boots and designs.. can't reveal too much as it will spoil the surprise but we promise to let you in on the rest of the secrets very soon.

"Um, well Delilah has a new headband, she's a little bit shy though. It is made from um, vintage fabric, and cause it's really soft cotton with no glues or hard edges, it's really comfy. Plus - it has an elastic back but cause there is little ties over top.. you can't see them!"

Sticky kid, sticky kid - what have you done?

It is so lovely when clients and friends share with us their 'Sticky Fingers' moments! Here are just a few of the happy snaps we received this week. In fact we are thinking we might even have a bit of a happy snap competition.. prize? A pack of sticky fingers wipes to help clean up the mess... LOL!

On a side note - I swore I would never be one of those parents I used to see with dirty kids, icky hands, snotty noses.. I used to think OMG - how hard is to wipe your own child's nose? NOW - I take it all back... I have a runny nose kid.. I swear i can wipe and blow every minutes of every day... but still he manages to always (or so it seems) to have a runny nose and subsequently sticky fingers. Conveniently the inspiration for said named site.. but still - I dream of having one of those perfectly clean and tidy children at least just for special occasions and birthdays?!
